Ida Vikfors is a Finnish artist with a textile artisan background. Ida works with and around reflection and subtleties in surfaces. A fascination for different materials, takes shape in a minimalist expression where textures move and reinvent themselves through light, creating differences in nuances and shade.

Nature and its raw material is present in both the creative process and the finished result. Idas works are a lifelong exploration between what an actual material consists of, and how it can be perceived. There is no object, no definite way of feeling – just an invitation to step closer.

The surfaces act as an antithesis to the every day, a sometimes hectic and inhuman environment. A surface that arouse curiosity, where the viewer find stillness and a grounded feeling.
